Something is amiss at Simply Sewing towers this week. At this time in our magazine cycle we’re usually busy bees excitedly sharing all our favourite things about our new issue hitting the shops, as well as beavering away working on what to pack into our next issue. This month is no different, except that we keep getting distracted by browsing online for fabric and it is entirely the fault of the Stoff & Stil website.
The Stoff & Stil story
The site that’s sucked us in started life over three decades ago when a husband and wife team discovered the joys of designing their own fabrics and selling them by mail order. Peter and Marianne Lerche grew their business into one of Europe’s leading fabric and sewing suppliers, with shops across Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, and it’s their UK store over at www.stoffstil.co.uk that’s driving us to distraction in the best way possible.
Search, click, sew!
We all know how satisfying and fun it can be to sew something special with our own hands. Sometimes though, finding fresh ideas – and the materials to go with them – can be the biggest challenge. That’s what we love to bring you in Simply Sewing magazine, and what makes Stoff & Stil so great. stoffstil.co.uk is jam-packed full of inspiration for sewing beginners and pros alike. Not only can you find the hottest fabrics and latest patterns there, plus a bulging haberdashery section that rivals the Great British Sewing Bee’s sewing room, there’s loads for children too. Whether you want to create something fashionable for your little one or on-trend bits for your home, you’ll find plenty of inspiration with in-season new arrivals almost every week. And to make things even easier, Stoff & Stil has designed a new collection of kits that contain everything you’ll need to create your chosen project. They include instructions, patterns and materials, all in the right amounts and measurements.
