This draped cardigan from Cotton + Chalk has full-length sleeves and is finished with stitched hems. The front extends to form the collar and show the reverse of the fabric. The raw edges are finished with topstitching. Cardigan A is short length with a shawl collar. Cardigan B is long length with a draped collar.

UK sizes 6-20, US 4-18 and EUR 34-48

You will need

  • Fabric {Cardigan A}: 152cm (60in) width fabric x 1.6–1.8m (134– 178yd), or
  • Fabric {Cardigan B}: 152cm (60in) width fabric x 1.9–1.8m (2– 234yd)
  • Fusible interfacing
  • Matching thread

Fabric suggestions:

Cotton jersey, double knit, sweater knits and interlock. Designed for stretch knits only with 25% stretch across the grain.


  • Learn to sew with stretch knits
  • Sew an elegant draped collar
  • Attach sleeves to a dressmaking pattern
  • Stabilise shoulder seams with interfacing.
